What To Do for Thanksgiving, Ya Know...Aside from Stuff Yo Face

Thanksgiving is coming up! Have you planned any fun family dates for the special occasion? If you haven’t, fortunately we can help with that!

If you’re an athlete, you may love this event! On Thanksgiving Day is the 19th annual Gobble Jog in Marietta Square! There are versions of the run for all skill levels: timed 10k’s and 5k’s, untimed 10k’s and 5k’s, and even a Tot Trot for the little ones! Attending this event benefits the MUST Ministries, which is an emergency rental assistance program. What better way to start your Thanksgiving morning than with a fun jog with your family? You even get a t-shirt!

Looking for a pumpkin patch is a great way to celebrate fall! Burt’s Pumpkin Farm is located in Dawsonville, GA, right next to Amicalola Falls. Admission is FREE! Some days (TBD) in November will have hayrides from 9am to 4pm. Tickets are $6 a person, but children 2 years and younger are free! You get to pick out pumpkins of all sizes - from small and cute to huge and perfect for carving, or even decorating your porch.

Have you ever wanted to go on a ghost tour? It’s your lucky day, then! Marietta Square offers three types of ghost tours. The first one is a walking tour. You get to walk the square with a talented storyteller to explain all the stories of ghosts in the Square. Next is a pub tour. People 21+ get to explore the three most haunted pubs in Marietta. Enjoy a pint with friends and maybe some supernatural guests too! The last tour is a bus tour, where you ride a bus around Historic Marietta and learn about past and present ghost stories.

Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate! Take time to bring your family and friends on fun adventures, and thank them for being there for you. We hope you have an AMAZING Thanksgiving!
