New Year, New Goals (and More Pie)

New Year, New Goals (and More Pie)

Antonio Hunt, Pie Bar

Ah, the New Year -- a time of change and goals. As we leave the old year behind us and look forward to the new, a question pops up. It’s really a simple one, what is my resolution for this year?

To be fully honest with you, I have far too much I wish to do, but I would like to share a few with you today.

My personal number one goal is to get my driver’s license: it has been something I have been meaning to do for some time and for some reason my gut tells me '21 is the year to finally do it!

Another one is to really go in on my writing. I want to really push myself to go all in on my writing this year!

Lastly, I'd like to try to expand my pallet.

Now you may be asking what this means and I shall give you the answer. Not that long ago, I had my very first slice of pie (yes, right before I started working at Pie Bar), I know that sounds crazy but it is the truth. I loved it so much, but it opened my eyes to how many new things I want to try out now. Regardless of whether it's savory or sweet, I want to challenge myself to try new flavors, which I might add has yet to backfire on me!

Every season when our menu rotates and new flavors are re-introduced into the shop, I want to try each flavor and see how they represent their season.

The thing that is so great about a New Year is the limitless possibilities that are laid out before you, ultimately leaving it to you to take that step. So regardless of whether or not your resolution is to down a whole pie in one day or to learn how to drive, I truly hope you can meet your goals and strive for new ones as the year goes on.

One of my favorite things about the New Year is much like a new flavor of pie -- you never know what to expect when you take the first bite, but if you choose to take that bite… you might just be surprised at what you may experience.

I have to thank you for listening to me go on and on, I really enjoy any time you choose to have a chat with me. So next time you come on in and sit down for a slice I hope you’ll share what your resolutions are, because I know for a fact I would love to hear from you!
