Farmers Market

Marietta Events For The Spring Season!

By Susanna, Pie Bar Marietta

The weather is finally getting warmer and the sun is staying out longer! No more sunsets at 4 pm, which means more time for fun events out with friends and family. Luckily, Marietta has plenty of events to choose from!

Every Saturday Marietta Square hosts its farmers market on Mill Street from 9 am to noon. The market boasts around 65 vendors offering products ranging from locally grown produce, garden products, and artisan-crafted soaps and floral arrangements. Vendors also sell locally made honey, handcrafted bread, sweet fruit pies, jellies, and jams. With so much to choose from, the farmers market is a great place to take a stroll through in the warm spring weather and get to know all the wonderful local farmers and artisans doing great work in our community. I think all of us have at some point dreamed of being that person that gets up early on a sunny Saturday morning and begins their day going to the farmers market for fresh produce to make dinner or gets a freshly baked baguette at an open-air market. The Marietta Square Farmers Market is the perfect place to live out your dream! After you pick up your local, fresh products, you can stay in the Square for some antique shopping or grab brunch at the L On North or Mac's Chop House.

If you're looking to try out delicious food and drinks made by some of Georgia's most talented chefs and beverage experts, the Georgia Food and Wine Festival is sure to be a foodie's paradise! It will be a four-day festival packed with food and beverage tastings, cooking classes, demonstrations by celebrity chefs, as well as live musical performances. The festival will run from Thursday, March 24th to Sunday the 27th with different events planned for each day. All cooking classes will be held on Friday, while the other three days will all include tastings and live music on Friday through Sunday! Tickets are available online for events and classes, and VIP ticket holders will get to attend an unlimited oyster roast at the VIP lounge. Get your tickets now and come out to support local chefs and artisans while enjoying delicious food and drinks!

Another great opportunity to enjoy local food from restaurants and vendors from all over Cobb County is the Taste of Marietta Food Festival. This festival is one of the longest-running food festivals in the Atlanta area. It will have tons of booths with tastes from over 50 local restaurants, caterers, and food trucks, as well as live music. There's even an area called Kid's Alley that is dedicated to kid's activities such as face painting, games, and moonwalks. You'll be sure to find something fun for everyone in the family! Unlike most festivals, there's no admission fee to get in and all booths will be cash-based, so for only $1- $5 you can enjoy tastes from many delicious vendors.

You definitely won't be at a loss for fun events in Marietta this Spring. So whatever you end up doing make sure you get out there and enjoy the sun, warm weather, and good times with friends and family! And don't forget to stop by Pie Bar and say hi, we can't wait to see you!
